Brazelton 20th Anniversary Conference

Brazelton 20 Anniversary Conference

Given the exceptional list of speakers on the programme of the 20th anniversary conference of the Brazelton Centre UK in Cambridge on 21st September 2017, we will not be having a separate Womb to World Birthlight conference this year.* Instead, we warmly direct Birthlight members to this Brazelton international conference.

Thanks to Joanna Hawthorne, a dear colleague of many years at Cambridge University whom you may have met at our conferences, Birthlight members can get a £10 discount. Please drop an email to Sylvie to get your discount code. The fee is £75 with discount, with lunch and refreshments included.

This conference is unmissable to all interested in parent-baby communication from birth. Dr T Berry Brazelton no longer travels due to his age but Professor Kevin Nugent, who will be the keynote, has a wonderful clear and inspiring eloquence. Even if you have heard Professor Colwyn Trevarthen, who spoke at two Birthlight conferences, he is sure to bring new insights and new depth of understanding about babies' communication. Professor Dieter Volke endorsed Baby Yoga in the early days of Birthlight when we had to prove it was not a dangerous practice. There are many overlaps between our values and those of the Brazelton approach. This was brought to light when Birthlight training tutors took the basic NBO training earlier this year as a collective CPD. We learnt a lot and we also got renewed confirmation that our Birthlight practices are sound and science-based. The conference will be a great networking opportunity as well as a short-cut to important and useful knowledge otherwise only accessible through books, papers and courses. It's a sensible investment and also earns you 6h CPD points. See you there I hope!

* Our 2018 Womb to World conference has already been planned for 22nd September 2018 at the Cambridge Medical School, Addenbrookes site. An outline and programme will be circulated soon.
