Reflections from a birthlight baby yoga teacher

Baby YogaAfter discovering Francoise's pregnancy yoga book during my first pregnancy I became interested in the Birthlight approach. I practiced baby yoga with my daughter from a few weeks old, and decided to train to teach it, taking part in baby yoga 1 when she was just 6 months old. She came with me on the course and Sally was really welcoming to us, it worked beautifully. An opportunity came up to cover teaching a postnatal and baby yoga class for 6 weeks and I absolutely loved doing this, and also doing my research and development towards baby yoga 2. Since then I have also done the SMART toddler yoga course and have looked into doing a British Wheel foundation course as I feel I've found what I love doing!

I've just had my second baby, Rumi Anand Singh, born on 28 Dec 2011, after a 1 hour 7 mins labour, thanks to all the yoga, at home, delivered by his daddy!  I hope to return to teach with my baby in the Spring. I'm currently running two baby yoga classes and one older baby / toddler yoga class per week, in Cheshire / Trafford.

Its been hard work building up my classes while being pregnant, having a toddler (she is now 20 months), and working in my 'day job' (for Childrens' Services) three days a week, but when i look at these pictures that were taken recently at one of my classes, and read the feedback from the Mums, i know it has all been worth it, and i cant wait to do more!

Yoga is a way of life for me now and it feels integral to family life too. I'm passionate about the benefits and I think that comes across in my classes. I've been using social networking a lot too and I find Twitter and Facebook, and my website/ blog are great for getting, and staying, in touch with Mums who are interested in what I do.
