Birthlight tutor - Belinda Staplehurst

Perinatal Yoga TutorWellWoman Yoga Tutor  WellWoman Yoga Tutor

I believe that Yoga should be accessible and enjoyable. I have been practicing Yoga all my adult life but only felt I had come home when I discovered Birthlight yoga in 2003. I knew immediately this was the approach for me to share with others.

I started my Birthlight journey with teaching pregnant women, then they had babies so of course had to learn too about postnatal and baby yoga too! Many of these women then reached the perimenopause and menopause so was inspired to deepen my knowledge of Yoga for women’s health.

Since first qualifying as a Hatha yoga teacher with FrYog in 2000 I have completed multiple land-based Birthlight diplomas, then became a perinatal tutor in 2015 after several years training under the expert guidance of Kirsteen Ruffell. Since then I have expanded into tutoring for Maternity Professionals and Well Woman. I am also a Senior Tutor with Yoga Alliance.

I grew up in France so have had the joy of tutoring courses in France, as well as regularly running training in the UK, China and Russia. I am always overwhelmed with the ease which women all over the globe adopt our practices, and witness the joy and power of our circles of women.

I am based in the English Midlands in the lovely town of Leamington Spa where I teach a huge range of regular classes all listed on Yogaworks – from mothers with newborn babies to older students in their 70’s and 80’s. All my classes have one thing in common –they are fun (I hope!) and I owe everything about the way I teach to Birthlight.
