Positive Birth after Caesarean (pbac)

Would you like to support birthing women who would like to experience a positive birth after caesarean?

This may be a Vaginal Birth After Caesarean or an elective caesarean birth.

The knowledge gained in this Continuous Professional Development study day has been a collaboration amongst Birthlight teachers, Midwives, Childbirth Educators and Doulas. It is an opportunity for you to share your knowledge and experience and deepen your skill base using Birthlight yoga and other tools that will support all women to make an informed choice about the birth she wants that has a safe and happy outcome.

We will explore the following:

  • the information that is available for women to make an informed choice
  • What the provision of maternity services is available in your area?
  • Recuperative yoga, helping women with post LSCS pregnancies
  • Improving pelvic tone and elasticity
  • Relaxation in the Constructive rest position

For those that are looking for a PBAC and the tools that would support increasing natural oxytocin from 35 weeks.

  • Massage of the shoulders and sacrum
  • How to support your baby to find a good position for Birth
  • Acupressure points to ripen the cervix
  • How to make more space in the pelvis
  • How to prepare the perineum for a vaginal birth

By the end of the day the attendee will be able to offer more information to women following a LSCS, and design educational workshops for women following a LSCS.

This study day contributes to CPD for all Birthlight trained teachers and may count as CPD for other professionals attending the day. Participants receive a Certificate of Training.
